I think it is a indeed a separate printer driver that Print Fab creates. I will be back up north tomorrow and will have a look at what I can get away with on my PRO-100 print Fab set up. ![]() I am in Florida enjoying some warmth and seeing my 89 year mother. ![]() I will ask to clarify if that means matte. Except that bit "with black pigment ink". So looks like the border issue is alleviated quite a bit. The larger top & bottom border for Fine Art Paper are created by the CanonÄriver - PrintFab can print with black pigment ink and smaller borders However, the printer has its own firmware that rejects print jobs with PrintFab doesn't use the Canon driver and "talks to the printer" directly.Update: I received an email From From PrintFab I had asked about 35/30mm borders and matt ink, and whether longer limits on paper length were possible: There is a limited amount of feedback about Canon use with PrintFab, but it seems to be very positive. Perhaps a side by side, or two passes on the same piece of paper with a black image one with each driver? Or an answer to this question received from PrintFab. I hope that the PrintFab driver is an original creation and uses the matt ink, but a test needs to be devised. Other users tests that indicate the only way matte black can be accessed and applied is with the restricted "fine Art" paper settings. The matte is supposed to be have superior darks and shadow detail. The caveat is that the Matte black ink is not used at all. To overcome the border limitation when using the Canon driver I know it is possible to use the matt paper setting and apply a profile for the paper which according to some yields good result. I am not sure if PrintFab writes its own drivers or harness' the Canon ones. I would like to test this but cannot right now-could someone try and report back? It appears possible to print without restricted borders. In the PrintFab GUI you can choose a size or create a custom one. ![]() There is only one pre-loaded profile for fine art- Hahnemuhle smooth -which is the matt I suppose. It might overcome this issue. My printer is broken right now but I downloaded and installed it.
